From Wanderer to Teaching Online: Ángela’s Educational Entrepreneurship Journey | Companio

Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.”

At Companio, we couldn’t agree more. That’s why we had the opportunity to interview Angela Agraz, co-founder and CEO of Bamboleo Talk, and also a valued client of Companio.

Her dream and mission are crystal clear: to empower people to improve their language fluency through interactive online classes.

In her own words, “No matter where you are, where you come from, your age, or how challenging it may seem for you to learn a language, we will make it happen together.”

But how did it all begin? What led her to venture into the field of teaching online, and how did she manage to succeed in her business? She unveils it all in this article.

The Journey that Changed Everything

Traveling always helps us shift our perspective on life and open our minds. But in Ángela’s case, it was a turning point.

“The story began in 2018 when I embarked on a year-long journey around the world.

I was teaching online to Australian students, and it reminded me of my previous experience in 2014 as a remote teacher (the classes were over the phone) for a multinational company, which was a great success.

The combination of these experiences led me to consider starting my own business to connect people. On one hand, to help some master a foreign language, and on the other hand, to provide others with the opportunity to earn money from wherever they choose to be, with the utmost flexibility.”

More Than Just Remote Work

For Ángela, working remotely holds a meaning that goes far beyond merely working from wherever you want:

“For me, you only live once, and in my opinion, you have to make the most of it. Given that my business revolves around people, languages, and experiences, carrying it with me everywhere has a deeper meaning. It allows me to connect with students and collaborators worldwide while exploring new places and cultures.

Overcoming the Challenges of Entrepreneurship in Education to Achieve Success

Even though Ángela is fortunate to do what she loves and do it from anywhere she pleases, as the saying goes, “there is no rose without thorns,” and entrepreneurship in education or any other sector is no exception. Ángela reveals the main challenges she had to face and how she overcame them:

“Dealing with all the different issues that arise daily is tough. However, I learned to take a deep breath and repeat what my grandfather used to say: one step at a time.”

But it also involves making tough decisions, and one of them was joining the e-Residency program to launch her online business:

“I heard that one of my colleagues had joined the e-Residency program and was delighted with the results, so that caught my attention. My experience of being self-employed in Spain helped me make the decision, sadly.

Then, another new challenge arose: finding a company to help her launch and manage her business in Estonia.

“When I started my exhaustive research on the companies that could help me start my business in Estonia, I discovered Companio.”

According to her, what encouraged her was our extensive experience with Spanish clients.

But what made her take the final step?

“A team member helped me take the final step after many questions I had to ask. They answered everything in detail and very professionally.”

The Secret to Making Starting Easier

Starting a business is already hard, but when you’re just beginning, it becomes even more challenging.

Ángela tells us how she addressed these difficulties with Companio:

“The process was quick and efficient, and I had 100% confidence throughout. In my opinion, it is crucial to ask all the necessary questions and ensure that the right steps are being taken.

Likewise, learning to approach mistakes with positivity and proactivity is crucial. My experience has been that there is a solution for every situation, and I am very grateful for that.

The Estonian system makes things much easier, and if you add Companio to the equation, it’s even better. Their software is very intuitive and efficient. I have seen you grow over the years, and I have to say that you have done a great job.”
